At Campbell Wellness Consulting, we offer Hypnotherapy training at the certification level through our school, the Horizon Center, which has been recognized by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association for Excellence in Hypnotherapy Education. All classes are held, at this time, in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.

At The Horizon Center our classes are unique in that the students work together to collectively interview clients, share session plans and to create and conduct sessions. This format allows for plenty of hands-on training, demonstration, role play, and discussion.
Another feature of this program is that students are instructed in hypnoanalysis techniques designed to teach them how to uncover the cause of a client's pain, fear, symptoms, habit etc. This component puts our graduates at an advantage over other schools as they are equipped with powerful hypnotherapeutic techniques.
To maintain the intimacy and privacy of the classes and to ensure student centered classes, class size is limited.

Qualified, experienced, exceptionally trained instructor, Linda Campbell,is a certified BC teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience. Ms. Campbell runs a full-time hypnotherapy practise in Victoria BC and, therefore, teaches what she KNOWS works in the fields of hypnotherapy and personal growth. Ms. Campbell is an expert in her field and is known for having appeared to date over 50 times on the Victoria BC CFAX 1070 radio show "Talk It Over" with Terry Spence to discuss various aspects of hypnotherapy including a live hypnosis demonstration. She has also been invited to numerous guest speaking engagements on Vancouver Island for professionals including doulas, midwives, teachers, Certified Dental Assistants, counsellors and hospice workers.
The Horizon Center provides ongoing mentoring and training for graduates. As a graduate of our program, you can attend follow up meetings designed to allow grads the opportunity to connect with other hypnotherapists, get guidance and support with clients and business, and learn new cutting edge techniques.
New Addition to course: "Practical Application" Component
At Campbell Wellness Consulting, we understand that making the transition from student to professional Hypnotherapist can be quite daunting. So, we have added another component to our training which we call "Practical Application". During this two month component, students will work with their classmates and instructor to develop sessions for real clients. This component to our training will help you feel more prepared and experienced when it comes to making that transition to working as a Hypnotherapist with your own paid clients.

Course Contents
Basic Hypnosis
By the end of the Basic portion of the course, the student will :
- Understand and use the correct semantics associated with hypnosis
- Be able to define hypnosis
- Be able to identify several uses for hypnosis
- Be familiar with a history of hypnosis
- Be familiar with and able to explain a model of the mind including:
*properties of the conscious mind
*properties of the subconscious mind
*how subconscious programming takes place both in and out of hypnosis
*the “filter” or critical factor and how it operates
*How hypnosis can help a client
- Be familiar with several misconceptions regarding hypnosis and be able to explain the truth behind them
- Be able to explain the difference between stage hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
- Be able to identify physical and non physical indications of hypnosis
- Understand and be able to recognize the 4 depths of hypnosis
- Be familiar with and be able to give examples of the 4 trance types
- Be familiar with brain wave states and the characteristics of each
- Understand and be able to give examples of cultural hypnosis
- Be able to take effective notes
- Understand and be able to develop effective rapport with a client
- Be able to conduct an effective pre-talk including:
* Explanation of hypnosis
* Explanation of the model of the mind
* Elicit information regarding the client's goal
* Explain how they will address the client's goal with hypnosis
* Ask for the sale
* Discuss fees, sessions etc.
- Be able to administer, mark and explain a Kappas suggestibility test
- Know the difference between and Emotional and a Physical suggestible and be able to identify the characteristic of each
- Be familiar with and able to utilize several suggestibility tests
- Be able to effectively conduct a basic hypnosis session including:
* Desensitize
* Center
* Induction
* Trance management
* Test or convincers
* Give suggestions, repeats and run a visualization
* Post hypnotic suggestion
* Exit ,reinforce and debrief
- Understand and be able to explain the rationale of each of the above steps of a session
- Be able to write an original induction
- Be able to write original deepeners
- Be able to hypnotize using a 10 to 1 post hypnotic suggestion
- Be familiar with and able to utilize confusional inductions.
- Understand and be able to utilize waking suggestion
- Be able to recognize, explain and effectively deal with resistance
- Understand and be able to address hidden agenda and secondary gain
- Understand and be able to effectively manage an abreaction
- Be familiar with self-hypnosis, group hypnosis and individual hypnosis experiences
Advanced Hypnosis
During this section of the course, the focus is on how to address habits, behaviors, pain and typical client goals which do not require hypnoanalysis (or up to the point at which you would do hypnoanalysis) as well as on using techniques that go beyond just giving suggestion
In this section, the student will:
- Learn how to perform an Elman Induction
- Learn how to perform an eye fixation induction
- Become familiar with rapid and instant inductions
- learn how to utilize a session planning flowchart
- Learn how to address basic habit control issues
- Learn a weight loss protocol
- Learn a smoking protocol and become familiar with supporting information
- Learn applications for general pain management
- Learn about body syndromes
- Learn how to work with pre-op and post-op clients
- Learn a childbirth protocol
- Learn applications for dental hypnosis
- Learn techniques for working specifically with cancer patients
- Learn how to and practice establishing ideomotor response
