Linda Campbell Pairs up with The Zone 91.3 to help morning show co-host jason Lamb give up smoking
From The Zone's website:
Happy Birthday Big Fella?
On Nov. 10th many moons ago, 38 to be exact , Jason "Lambo" Lamb was born. Of course we take the celebration of the birthday very seriously around here at the Zone. Although this time around there was no "Tom-Foolery", but we still surprised the hell out of the old timer.
Jason was convinced something horrible was going to happen to him i.e. A Donkey kicking him in the junk, getting tarred and feathered (witch I was told we couldn?t do anymore, human rights or something). As he complained and begged to be left alone on his birthday. I told him he would be pleasantly surprised when it came time to find out what we had planned.
I knew that he wanted to quite smoking after 20 years of the habit. I knew that he'd tried many times before to no avail. I knew this time he really wanted to do it for his newborn son. So that's what we got him...the opportunity to quite smoking, and make some very entertaining radio at the same time.
Linda Campbell (Certified Hypnotherapist) will be taking Jason in for one session behind closed doors, everything after that will be live on the show. That's right Lambo will be hypnotized on-air in hopes to get him to quite smoking for good. Plus if I have it my way while he's "under" we'll be having our way with him...some PG13, some not so much. I just have to figure out a way to get Linda to teach me her ways...then he's ALL MINE!!!
It should a very interesting next few weeks as we hopefully get Jason of the "Cancer Stick".
Cheers,
Dylan Willows, morning host
Hypno-Blog - December 8th, 2008
Well, no more hypnotism sessions are planned for now, because I'm still smoke-free! Not even a drag since November 20th. And this past weekend was the ultimate test. After the Nine Inch Nails show, my buddy and I went out and got pretty smashed. It was the first time I've drank any booze since I quit smoking, and I DIDN'T SMOKE!!! Wow. I can hardly believe it myself. I can't thank Linda Campbell enough or recommend her enough to anyone looking to give up the devil weed.
JL Hypno-Blog - November 25, 2008 - 4th Hypnotism Session
Well, folks, what can I say? Shortly after our last session last Thursday morning, I had the last cigarette in my pack (around 11:30am). I never got around to buying another pack of smokes. I haven't had a puff or drag or anything since then. Linda came in this morning, and I had to give her a hug. It is truly remarkable how easy it's been the last five days. 20 years of smoking...done. Linda hypnotised me again on the air, to reinforce my reasons for quitting, and to make sure they stay permanent. We'll check in with her again in a week or so. I can't thank her enough. And a big thanks to Dylan for getting me the hypnotherapy for my birthday.
Hypno-Blog - November 20, 2008 - 3rd Hypnotism Session
This morning, I had my second on-air hypnotherapy session with Linda Campbell. It was our third session overall. I've definitely seen a progress, as I am down to just a couple cigarettes a day now. And I've eliminated the first one in the morning. I felt that this morning, I went down a little 'deeper' into hypnosis before. Linda worked on some positive reinforcement, sort of like a 'pep talk' for my quitting smoking. She also focussed on my motivations for quitting, There are many, but the main one is my little boy. I want to be around to watch him grow up, and I don't want him to pick up the habit on account of me. I'm thinking about starting the nicotine patch, just to attack this thing from two fronts. Looking forward to seeing Linda here again on Monday.
JL Hypno-blog - Day 2 after my hypnosis
It was a pretty cool experience getting hypnotized on Wednesday. I believe it is working. I've had a couple cigarettes since, but they've tasted awful. Linda was really great, made me so relaxed. It wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I also had the best sleep of my life the night after my hypnosis, something she said would happen. I can't wait to get hypnotized again on the air on Monday. I am totally confident that I'll be able to quit the smokes for good soon. If anyone is interested in what Linda Campbell does, you can check out her website.
Hypnotically yours, Jason Lamb
Hypno-Blog - 2nd Hypnotism Session
So, this morning, Linda came into the station and hypnotized me live on the air. It was weird, I felt like I went into a deeper state of hypnosis, even though there were alot more distractions (music, Dylan, Dylan, etc). It's very hard to describe the feeling to someone who has never been hypnotized. I was completely aware of everything around me, but happy to stay in a state of semi-conciousness. I haven't completely quit smoking yet, but I am totally confident that I will with this process. Linda returns Thursday, so we'll see how session #3 goes. Until then,
Jason Lamb
